Well, the the reason you can be in good gear (furious main and relent off), is because the GOOD PvPers are doing arena, not grinding last season's welfare epics. :oooo

I've been 80 a few weeks, and it took me a while to break 1,500 DPS regularly. (I'm a RetPal)

I read EJ, I gemmed, enchanted (to a degree, but with blues & greens that will soon be replaced, I didn't waste TOO much gold) I knew the FCFS rotation, etc, but it took a while to get "decent" DPS, let alone consistently break 2k.

And my Ele-Shammie comrade had an even harder time. For her, it was a couple spec tweaks and a slight re-gem.

So, long post shorter - some specs can be really tough to do good DPS with, even if you are geared and read up. Some >small< changes can make a huge difference, and that can take a while to figure out.

How quickly people forget that if everyone's popping 1500 dps, most of the heroics are do-able, or heck, even "easy" (leaving out HToC + later, of course).

It's a shame how elitist even the average tool can be these days.

I tanked on my druid with random DPS last night.

They AoE'd everything, even before I had any rage or threw out any swipes. Even then, my swipes aren't necessarily enough to keep up with uber-gear AoE. It's really frustrating. I even said that I mark a kill order at the very start of things. The priest didn't follow it.

I'm not that poorly geared a tank. I probably stack stamina a bit too much, but I've done every heroic short of HoR (we just didn't have the DPS to get away from the ol' LK).

Why, oh why, does everyone assume that EZ Moade suddenly means you can also be completely thoughtless?

And here I was thinking that Drain Life was a good way to replenish health without upsetting the healer too much. Go figure. :P

Arcanes damage left alone is far greater then fire. When I'm spec'd 57/3/11 I just pop my Icy Veins AP, Scale of fates macro and spam arcane blast on enemies and I rarely even get to 4 stacks on one target, the most it usually takes is 3, and after that dies I switch to another target with 3 stacks up then I crit him for 15k followed by arcane missles or arcane barrage, and then thats dead. Rinse and repeat.

With fire I find the most damage you can get is by spamming living bomb on as many people as possible. Scorch and pyroblast damage really is not that much.

Completely agree with you about heroic tanks.

Today I got into a heroic Halls of Lightning on my priest (disc). The tank was a druid with 22k hp in bear.

As soon as we got in, there was a vote kick for the tank. I declined it thinking "this might be fun". The hunter, presumably the one that initiated the vote kick leaves.

We get one more dps, and blast through the instance like normal and for once, I did more than cast power word: shield and renew. It was such a fun refreshing change. The tank himself was very competent, picking up all adds and holding them. I don't remember him losing threat to a dps even once!
