Thommas:

You are correct. You will have to rely upon slow from another source. In a 5-man dungeon pug, it may not happen. So if you want to change that glyph so you don't lose your slow effect, by all means.

The spec/glyph choice is a little more directed towards a raid situation where you're pretty much guaranteed the boss will be slowed to some effect.

As to what other major glyph would be best for there, I'm not sure. I haven't really l looked. I went Arcane like a dirty little monkey. :P

Also, just noticed... doesn't the removal of the snare of frostbolt by way of the glyph force the slow on your enemies to come from the tank or other players. I understand its any slow, but it casting, melee, or movement, but I'm not sure i like the idea of depending on pugs like that, where i will most likely be playing.

Gah! I so want to play right now, but the gf and I are off to Wal-Mart for garland for the tree then Home Depot to build some shelves for the bathroom, no WoW here today. :-/

Oh well. At least I have the tattered dreadmist set for the +20% XP to help it along. :P

Thanks for the very helpful info for the leveling. :)

The one point into brain freeze isn't worth it for the instant fireball because fireball has no synergy with our talents, is that why?

No offence taken, at all! I was just expanding my reasoning as well saying that all three of those suggested talents have their merits.

I probably should have added that picking any of the three doesn't warrant this much debate, but whaddya gonna do, eh? ;)

I'm not totally undervauling Magic Absorption, I'm just tuning the spec to my style of play. It's one talent point to be used at one's discretion. I wouldn't criticize anyone for taking any one of those and hopefully they've adjusted it to their situation.

With the fights I frequent and have access to, the difference between all three of those talents are minimal.

A chance at a few extra seconds for dps'ing Ony may happen once, maybe twice a fight? It won't make or break my overall damage. It just pinches a little extra.

An extra 2% dmg from Ice Lance or CoC during a movement situation. Same deal.

Less damage during Koralon's AoE, sure it helps the healer a bit. I already pop Fire Ward and hopefully Ice Barrier will be up for a few of those anyway. But the difference it makes in damage reduction isn't likely to determine if I live through a fight or not.

Oh for sure. I'm considering dropping a point or two somewhere so I can get Cold as Ice back. Ice Barrier is one of my favourite spells in the game.

I think you're undervaluing Magic Absorption. It's no the mana regen that makes it a decent talent choice: it's the spell resist it gives you.

Not only will you take significantly less damage from magic (healer hug), but you can also fully resist things like Onyxia's fear, Razorscale's wing buffet, and Ignis's silence. Instead of being launched or running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, you can continue DPSing.

Granted, it's not reliable (low RNG), but Magic Absorption + Gift of the Wild will probably allow you to resist these effects once or twice in a fight.
