It just occured to me that I, being a fire mage, have superior mana regen to the vast majority of Holy Paladins.
No, don’t laugh, I’m serious.
Consider.
Paladins, when they critically heal, gain back 30% of the spells cost. So do fire mages. Unbuffed, most holy paladins I know sit anywhere from 150mp5 to 200mp5 while casting, and raid buffed his usually goes up closer to the 300-350mp5 while casting.
Unbuffed, I possess 297mp5, and raid buffed, that goes up to over 550mp5 while casting!
Via Divine Plea, paladins restore a quarter of their mana every minute, or 100% of it over 4 minutes. This is the only one up they have on my regen, as I can restore a mere 60% of my mana pool every 4 minutes.
I also have a mana gem feeding me every 2 minutes, and of course every time ignite ticks I get back even more mana. Not to mention Clearcast.
I don’t mean to brag (well, yes I do) but this is sorta weird.
I thought healers were supposed to be all about the mana regen. And here I am, a fire mage, who really doesn’t care at all about mana past “I have some I think”, with far deeper mana pools than the holy paladins could ever dream of.
The worst part is, I have all these tools at my disposal for mana return, and I barely even use them.
Our poor Holy Paladin is nearly OOM by the time we get to Mimiron phase 3, and here I am with a full mana bar, all 3 charges left on my gem, and Evocation has been used once in four weeks of raiding as a fire spec mage.
And even that lone Evocation use was only because I had died and been battle rezzed.
So I have to ask.
What the crap is going on here?
