Good morning, Azeroth! How was your-oh. New glyphs, huh? And all that was posted after I went to bed?
Way to immediately invalidate my post you jerks!
Well, then, let’s dive right in.
- Glyph of Ice Lance – Your Ice Lance now causes 4 times damage against frozen targets higher level than you instead of triple damage.
Wow. I mean, really. This is the best you guys can come up with?
I mean yeah, huzzah, buffs to frost mages in raids. As Krizzly has already pointed out with a great deal of math, this glyph results in a massive boost to Ice Lance damage.
But is it enough?
Currently, a raiding frost mage will run with Glyph of Frostbolt, Water Elemental, and Molten Armor. (more…)

Patch 3.1! Holy crap look at those changes. Ret pallies got nerfed, Howling Blast continues to be nerfed into the ground, dual specs are here, and mages have Replenishment!
The worst part is that probably none of this will be relevant in a week or two. So why blog about it?
Because I’m a blogger and I can whore myself out to google whenever I damn well please.
So first, Mage Armor and pals have now, officially, been changed into the 17/33/50% model. The mana regen nerf is in full swing, and we mages can chug right along and pay zero attention to it. Hazzah for spirit being an exciting stat.
There appears to be a new Polymorph! Everyone, please welcome Polymorph: Rabbit to the gang. What’s next? Cow? The ability to make your own Polymorph?
Imagine this. A class specific quest for mages involves us learning how to cast Polymorph: Rasa. Then, we cast this spell at any critter in the game. Now we have Polymorph: [Critter]. This would save Blizzard a lot of time in the long run. (more…)
