I’m not talking mad, or frustrated, I’m talking right FURIOUS, spittle flying from my lips as angered jibberish and blasphemy pours from my face. I’m talking rage hot enough to boil lobsters from yards away.
This is… Hulk Factor.
People who go to various WoW forums and post crap like “ONLY 60 DAYS TO WAR”
Ok. We get it already. Warhammer is an MMO. And it’s coming out. And it’s going to be good. Y’all said the exact same thing about Hellgate London. It sucked. You said the same thing about Tabula Rasa. It sucked. You said the same thing about Age of Conan. It sucked.
You said the same thing about LOTR Online and… it didn’t suck. Not really. It was WoW for the serious crowd.
I personally didn’t like it; it felt exactly like WoW but devoid of robot chickens and rocket launchers. That, and the UI was stifling at best.
So I can concede that yea, it’s entirely possible Warhammer will be an awesome game. But will it be better than WoW? Not a chance in hell. Sure, if you like it more, go for it.
Just stop coming to our forums and beating on a game we all know and love (except for you, apparently), and try to promote a game you haven’t played. You look like an idiot.
Hulk Factor: *grumble* morons…
Mages who flame those who spec arcane
You’d think that a mage would be supportive of their own damn class. This is like Paladins turning against everyone who specced Retribution. Just lunacy.
What?
That actually happened?
Well isn’t that just retarded.
Look. All of you who think that Arcane is the step child spec are merely ignorant fools. That’s not so bad! You just need to stop being stupid.
The facts are these: Arcane is a perfectly viable spec for raiding. It produces great numbers, quite often fantastic numbers. It’s able to adapt to target changes much faster than other specs, and… really, why am I defending it here?
Arcane has been proven time and time again, even against Brutallus, one of the worst fights in the game for an Arcane mage.
I can understand criticism coming from other classes that don’t know any better… but other mages? Seriously? What the hell is wrong with you people?
Hulk Factor: You won’t like me when I’m angry.
Using Arena Ratings as a counter argument
“I’ve use an arcane spec for Black Temple, and it seems to stack up fine most fights. However, now that…”
Reply: “You have an arena rating of 1399, therefore you don’t know anything, because you suck.”
This is called a logical fallacy, or more specifically, ad hominem. In essence, you reply to a claim (factual or not) by attacking the person making said claim, rather than their argument.
And this happens a lot. It’s the number one argument that is used on the forums. Sure, it varies a little. Some will ignore and attack you because of your arena ratings. Some will look at your gear and say “Hah! You’re still wearing a quest green! Therefore everything you say is completely wrong!” Some will say “Pfft, you are posting on the mage forums as a level 1 Warlock. Nothing you say will be acknowledged”.
All these people are posing arguments based on nothing. It’s like refusing to believe what a Chinese person says about protecting the environment, because he’s Chinese.
And yes, attacking people based on their spelling and/or grammar as a way to refute their argument falls in the same boat.
“You’re a lair!”
“No I’m not!”
“Of course you’d say that, ’cause you’re a liar!”
Does this conversation sound logical? Because this is exactly how these arguments sound.
But hey – if you really do need to use this type of logic, at least try to keep it relevant? Arena ratings, for instance, have nothing at all to do with anything that relates to raiding.
Hulk Factor: If I meet you, I will hurt you.
Blatant trolls
I’m talking people going to the Mage forums and posting “Why play a mage?” or “What level is your warlock?”. The people who go to the warrior forums and post “LOL DEATHKNIGHTS”, or to the Warlock forums and posting anything.
GO AWAY. SERIOUSLY. JUST DIE OR SOMETHING.
Nobody likes you people. No one.
At least TRY to be creative at what you do. Is it really so hard to come up with stuff like the Rick Robe? Or a recording of a Ventrilo channel where some guy keeps playing random Darth Vader quotes? C’mon, people, you’re better than this!
Hulk Factor: I will hunt you down and destroy you.
Protection Paladins taking Tempest of Chaos
Every time I see, or hear, of this happening, I tear off my own arm and use it to beat a kitten to death. I then queue for Alterac Valley, and spend the entire game hunting down Paladins, killing them, and then mashing the kitten’s corpse in their face while screaming “YOU SEE WHAT YOU DID?!”
Hulk Factor: Every time a Paladin rolls for ToC, Euripedes kills a kitten.
You’ve been in my RSS feed for a long time. I like reading your math and the way you describe the mage things of Wow.
I just wanted to say that
quote: “spittle flying from my lips as angered jibberish and blasphemy pours from my face.” is on of the finest uses of the english language I’ve seen in weeks.
LoL, Critical, you can not go to those forums!!! You will find no information there, only ignorance and agony. Stick to the blogs, Subcreation, and EJ for your sanity. Stop throwing good hope after bad jerks (unelitist ones).
Have you tried reading this blog? It’s pretty good you should read this one.
Also, it’s pretty difficult to get a 1300 arena rating. I’ve found that you can lose a LOT and still be in the 1400s.
ToC is pro on Prot Pallies. As long as all the real dps has it, I vote you let a prot pally have it before a healer.
I won’t get enraged if it doesn’t get wasted or anything.
What throws me into screaming rages is when the DPS classes who can utilize it better than a Paladin can get left in the cold.
If that happens (which it does, with alarming frequency) then the RAAAAAAAAAGE.
As a part time Prot Pally, I wouldn’t take any weapon with spell crit on it, unless it was going to get disenchanted. Ditto for spell hit. Gogo Holy spells not being subject to resists.
I was reading on the Beta forums the other day about a Pally whose entire guild was decked out in main hand Warglaives. Thus, she got one the umpteenth time it dropped. She now uses it in major cities, opening up trade windows with random rogues and warriors and placing it in the ‘will not be traded’ spot.
Lucky bastards.
Our first Tempest went to the person with the most DKP for it….Prot pally.
I can understand the thought process…just wish he would have considered other DPS classes…he’s good with holding agro already.
Also…since I now have mine, I have less to be angry about =).
I feel your pain, last night an Elemental Shaman beat us out on bids for the Cowl of the Illidari High Lord. The Mages cried, but hey, we’re good at that.
