So here’s something. Apparently, warlock and mage armor spells are immune to spell steal, dispel, and so forth, because they are no longer treated as magical effects.
Meaning, of course, that when you cast Molten Armor on yourself, it’ll stay there, permanently, for half an hour.
Grammatically incorrect sentence is grammatically incorrect!
Two big changes here…
First, the inability to steal a warlocks armor spell will be rather annoying. Especially the “warlock” mobs in PvE. Ever spell stolen some of those effects? Ridiculous things like “Increases spell damage by 202… billion”. That will suck.
Oh, hey, and I guess that effects PvP warlocks too, don’t it? Pfeh, you can keep your measly 101 spell damage because… I couldn’t steal it if I wanted to… stupid Detect Invisibility.
GEE THANKS, MR. WARLOCK, THAT’S REAL HELPFUL.
HOWZABOUT YOU CAST A REAL BUFF I CAN STEAL NEXT TIME?
Second, of course, is the effect this has on Molten Armor.
In case you missed out on patch 2.4, Improved Fire Ward was changed to Molten Shields, giving Molten Armor a 50/100% chance to affect ranged targets. Meaning, of course, every time the mage was struck by anything that dealt damage, the enemy took damage, and had a 10% chance to be stunned.
Then, just a short time ago, along came patch 2.4.2, with this little tidbit of information:
Molten Armor will now do damage while a damage absorption shield is active.
Meaning that when the mage was hit by any attack, regardless of whether it deals damage, Molten Armor will steal deal its damage.
And here we are now, looking at patch 2.4.3, with it’s dispel immune Armor.
So let’s get this straight.
If a mage were to, theoretically, place 17 points into the fire tree, every single attack made against them, whether from a warlock pet, ice lance, an arrow, or a dagger to the kidney, would cause a slight amount of damage and have a 10% chance to stun them for 10 seconds.
DURRRRRRRR 2 SECONDS.
And now there is no way to avoid that damage. It’s undispellable, yo!
YEW GONNA GET STUNNED, BEYOTCH.
I think we’re going to see a sudden surge in popularity for the 0/17/44 PvP build.
If it takes your fancy (and you’re not bound by NDA or anything), take a peek at the leaked armor spells and modified arcane talents from WotLK.. this change is quite tasty indeed
“would cause a slight amount of damage and have a 10% chance to stun them for 10 seconds.”
10 seconds…that’d be awesome
Stunned for 10 seconds? I thought it was 2…
Er… and I have to be a little freaked about the grammatically incorrect sentence. Cept its not really grammatically incorrect, its simply self contradictory. Yuir grammar is beautiful
Anyway, I had one like that a coupla weeks ago.
I got a new computer. While installing it, I ran into a little situation that conventional english didn’t really help describe…
The second I unplugged my old computer, it stopped working.
Figuring out how to describe that bothered me for a week. But then, Ima language dweeb.
See, this is why I need an editor.
It’s a two second stun. Obviously. 10 seconds is rather silly.
