Want Some Drama? Have Some Drama!
April 29, 2008 by Euripedes
I am currently getting some film together to make some magely type videos, and while waiting for the defrag to finish up it’s delicious work, I decided to mull over Duskwood’s forums. And BEHOLD! Drama!
So it seems that some people were extremely sore about being booted from Anathema, and made some rather hurtful posts about it.
As quoted below:
Anathema is currently recruiting players that actually know how to play the game.
We have spots in our progression team open! So apply now!Progression spots available.
-Hunters. Should actually know how to feign death, and not pull something and wipe the whole raid please.-Rogues. Learn how to %!*@ing damage.
-Mages. If you can’t sheep don’t apply, thats all we care about in this guild.
-Warlocks. Need to be able to shadow bolt spam, and you need to get a set of fire resist gear, because the person who has one likes to !#@#% and is like ” I DONT WANNA RESPEC I WANT TO PLAY MY PALADIN”
-Warriors. If your name isn’t Gyrth, you don’t get to be a dps warrior.
-Druids. You wont get an invite if you actually no how to play and have sets for every spec.
-Paladins. We have like none of you in raids, but we want your buffs. %!*@ you !#@#%es.
-Priests. You all suck.
-Shaman. We shun all specs that are not restoration. If you aren’t restoration you can’t raid with us, especially if you are elemental. and you can only raid enhance if you are Hexisu
If you meet any of these requirements then feel free to apply.
Sub raid spots:
We will accept all applicants for sub spots! but you will never get a raid spot so I wouldn’t even bother. Thanks for your time. <3
Pretty much all of this is easily explainable. The hunter thing? There were a couple Hydross wipes because of that, but that was months ago. We’re talking December.
The rogue thing? Really doesn’t make sense. We had a rogue who was Mutilate spec, because he hadn’t gotten any good swords yet. He was one of the ones who left the guild in that mass exodus I talked about before, so that rules him out.
The mage thing? Well… to be blunt, maybe I’m just more familiar that one better, but the *ahem* upper management of Anathema have stated that if all the guild wanted was raw DPS, all of the current mage slots would be filled with warlocks and shadow priests. Why mages are chosen over them is Polymorph. So. You can choose to be upset that mages can’t match warlocks and shadow priests, or be happy that the majority of the time, a few Polymorphs are needed or the raid is royally screwed.
The Warrior thing? Not really fair, since Gyrth just happens to rape absolutely everything up the bum with a pylon when he goes as DPS. We had a few other warriors who wanted to raid as fury, and… well, they either sucked or didn’t have even close to good enough gear. Gyrth just happens to have top of the line gear (for our progression, anyways) and rocks the WWS stats so incredibly hard. He’s been #1 Raid damage per second and damage dealt on many occasions.
That, and he also has a full tank set of our current progression, is fully willing to tank, and damn good at it too.
The druid thing? Uhm. We have, like, three druids who ever raid with us. One is a tank, and a damn good one. The other is a resto druid, and it just so happens we need a resto druid with us sometimes. Like, I don’t know, Tidewalker. The third isn’t on for our raid times very often, but he is an excellent player (if a prick) and has fully viable sets for every possible spec druids have. He can tank, he can DPS, either from range or melee, and he can heal. And that goes for PvP as well. He doesn’t raid very often because he’s rarely online for raids, and when he is, generally we’re already full and good to go.
Paladins? ‘Cause you know, they’re ability to heal and tank is completely ignored. Despite the fact our GM has a Paladin tank, and second in command has a Paladin healer.
Speaking of that, the warlock comment. That same warlock is the second in command of the guild, so I’m fairly sure that trash talking her (yes, it’s a her) is a very poor plan.
She likes her Warlock. Has stated so. Has more fun on her warlock. She has had VUN UND ONLY VUN breakdown where she couldn’t get her warlocking down, and blamed herself for a wipe on Hydross. Technically, the tank died and she was second on the aggro list… nonetheless. So she wanted to go to her Paladin, because she didn’t want to bugger up the raid again…
Anyone seeing where the aversion to doing stuff for the good of the guild is in there?
So what if she happens to be the only warlock with a fire resist set? That means she’s the only warlock to have spent a bajillion Badges of Justice on fire resist gear. That means she’s the only one to have actually gone through the effort of getting a fire resist set, so no other warlock had to.
Nevermind that her warlock just happens to be one of the top DPS’ers in the guild. Nevermind the hours and hours and hundreds of gold she’s spent actually getting a Fire resist set, so that some other guildies can have some neat looking gloves.
Obviously she’s a selfish bitch and could care less.
The priest comment? The GM’s main is a priest. So that explains that.
The Shaman thing? Enhancement shaman are more than welcome. As long as there’s only one of them. It’s not our fault, the fact is, only one Enhancement shaman is needed. That’s Blizzard’s fault. The elemental thing? Laughable. Elemental shamans are more than welcome. It’s just sometimes they’re asked to spec Restoration for a raid or two. You know, if four healers are online, and we happen to want to raid, because it’s Tuesday, and that’s a raid day.
Oh yeah. Unsure if this guy knew what “Sub Spot” means. It means that if a regular raider DOESN’T show up, but we still not someone to fill in there, that’s what a sub spot is for. If we need three warlocks for an encounter, but only 2 of the main raiders are on, that’s when a sub spot gets to go.
I myself am, technically, a sub spot guy. I get to raid plenty.
There are a bunch of posts like this on the Duskwood forum. All of our recruitment threads got attacked, and a bunch of mock ones were tossed up.
Fairly sure these guys can all go die somewhere. That’d be nice.

Bitter, party of half a dozen.
Dude, why is it people think that when they leave the guild, leave the people that rely on them every raid, leave the people that like sharing kills and wipes with them that all access to the guild should remain (forums, etc.)?
A guild is a group of players that have decided to ban together and work as a team.
Anathema has some guildies that will not PUG anything.
It doesn’t take more than a day or two of belonging to this guild to realize it’s more than just raiding. Look at the green and pink chats. These people like one another.
I don’t wanna go off on a rant here but…I’d like to tell this anonymous prick the following:
Sour grapes are sour, and quite frankly any of these “complaints” about how this guild is run and how our raids are formed can be applied to any number of guilds as well.
Can’t get in the raid as enhancement or MS/Fury? QQ more–your raid only has room for one of each and if you’re some scrub who thinks you can take Gyrth’s or Hexisu’s spot despite how insanely good their gear is and how much time and effort they’ve put into our raids then you wholeheartedly deserve that spot in ’s six hour Karazhan clears.
Got a problem with how tough the GM is on classes he knows inside and out? Grow a pair and show him you’re worth it. Look at Jxan. Look at Killerhealz. They both passed the test.
Also, there has been ONE raid I showed up for that I didn’t get a spot in…as either Elemental or Enhancement. The only reason for that was the unusual number of people online for the raid that night. And I have terrible gear. But unlike the QQ train on our forums, I have a good attitude and learn quickly.
Don’t throw a hissy fit whenever things don’t go your way.
Don’t bitch about your retarded spec and gimp gear not getting a spot in our raids.
And FFS, don’t go whining on the forums in your own tongue-in-cheek way when the above items inevitably occur.
You, sir, madam, or squirrel, fail at both life and WoW. GG.
Holy shit! Olive reads Rip’s blog.
Oliv was around when the whole thing got started and offered much encouragement on the project…
